Modern and Proven Teaching Framework

LKECC’s chosen philosophy and developmental theory is the Early Years Foundation Stage. We work with children on a one-to-one basis, giving them the opportunity to bring out their best selves in a safe, nurturing and challenging environment

Pedagogy Framework

Early year foundation stage fits with our vision and mission and the framework’s pedagogy is focused around helping children to learn

01

Every child is unique

Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. Children are powerful learners. Every child can make progress in their learning, with the right help.

02

Positive relationships

Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.

03

Enabling environment

Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is strong partnership between practitioners and parents. Practitioners should carefully organize enabling environments of high-quality play, both indoors and outdoor

04

Learning and development

Children develop and learn in different ways. The EYFS framework covers the education and care of all children in early provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Early years foundation stage has 7 areas of development

Children’s personal (who they are), social (how they get along with others) and emotional (how they feel) development is crucial for children to lead healthy and happy lives, and is fundamental to their cognitiv development. Strong, warm and supportive relationships with adults enable children to learn how to understand their own feelings and those of others. Children should be supported to manage emotions, develop a positive sense of self, set themselves simple goals, have confidence in their own abilities, to persist and wait for what they want and direct attention as necessary. Through adult modelling and guidance, they will learn how to look after their bodies, including healthy eating, and manage personal needs independently. Through supported interaction (with the setting and the families), children learn how to make good friendships, co-operate and resolve conflicts peacefully. These attributes will provide a secure platform from which children can achieve at school and in later life.
